Containers for Change, Queensland’s recycling scheme reports that when it comes to recycling, Queensland can do a lot better, in fact, Queensland has one of the lowest recycling rates in Australia, at around 44%. They also report that each year, approximately three billion beverage containers are generated in Queensland alone and are the second most littered item.
Broken to Brilliant is helping to improve Queensland recycling efforts to keep our beautiful environment free of litter. We have been collecting and cashing in recyclable items since December 2018.
The Containers for Change scheme pays a 10 cent refund for each eligible container returned to a
refund point. We are pleased to say we have raised $1,374.7 for the Give-a book program. A big thank you to all our dedicated recyclers who have made this fund raising exercise such a success.
