Loretta Ryan, presenter for ABC Radio Brisbane and Queensland proudly helps domestic violence survivors turned authors, who have penned their stories launch their book titled ‘Terror to Triumph Rebuilding Life After Domestic Violence’ on Saturday 24th November 1pm at Clovely Estate, Red Hill Queensland.
‘Loretta said, “I have heard about Broken to Brilliant’s work and I wanted to personally help, meet and congratulate the authors and Charity Directors on their life changing book project”.
Charity-Founders Andrea and Kate Smith, said, “When we saw the impact our first book, Broken to Brilliant, had on people’s lives – how the words breathed hope into people’s hearts. How the power of people’s stories created ripples of recovery and repair – we could not turn away and stop these ripples of healing. There had to be a second book”
Publishing Consultant, Belinda Pollard, Small Blue Dog Publishing, said, “It has been a privilege to be entrusted with each of the 12 authors stories to read and edit their heartfelt words”.
“The 11 women and 1 man have penned powerful stories of adversity, each with their own message of resilience and steps for recovery”, Belinda said.
Domestic violence survivors, soon to be anonymous published authors in the book Terror to Triumph are bravely stepping forward to share their experiences at the book launch.
Author and domestic violence survivor Amber said, “Sharing my story wasn’t easy, releasing it into the world with honesty and vulnerability for others to see was scary and confronting; but out of that rawness comes new life and hope and an even greater fortitude”
Author and domestic violence survivor Fiona said, “If nothing else, this journey has shown me that we are all stronger than we can ever imagine and finding my tribe has been a great blessing”.
Author and domestic violence survivor Colin said, “Breaking the shame of silence was hard, I didn't expect my journey in recovery to be even harder”
Author and domestic violence survivor Jill, said, “It was worth revisiting those years and reflecting on what I have achieved in order to guide another survivor on their journey of recovery. I was nervous but proud to share my story in the book”.
Broken to Brilliant LTD ™ is an Australian Not for Profit Charity where domestic violence survivors share stories of overcoming adversity to mentor other survivors to create a new chapter in their life.
The third book will be completed, published and launched within 12 months with funding from the Community Sector Banking, Australia’s specialist not-for-profit banking service.
Though the Give a Book Campaign, the Charity Broken to Brilliant donates copies of their two books to Domestic Violence Refuges to give hope, courage, inspiration and direction to domestic violence survivors.
