About The Event

The month of May is acknowledged as Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month, and SANDBAG hosts two annual events in commemoration.

The Peaceful Walk and Candle Lighting Ceremony are held to raise awareness about domestic and family violence and in remembrance of those whose lives are impacted and lost.

We extend a warm invitation to you to attend the Peaceful Walk and Candle Lighting Ceremony, sponsored by Queensland Government, Hon. Stirling Hinchliffe and Cr. Jared Cassidy and held in Sandgate – Wednesday 25th May commencing 4.30 pm at Sandgate State School Performance Hall; entrance off Keogh Street directly opposite the new Sands Social, which is near Sandgate Court House and local QPS.

Welcome to Country, dance performances, guest speakers, artworks display, and Peaceful Walk and Candle-lighting Ceremony.
