The Art of Empowerment: Transformation through Art, Dresses, and Hair Styling

Broken to Brilliant and Formally Ever After

In our journey of empowerment and healing, we're incredibly grateful to Tammy from Formerly Ever After for her unwavering support of domestic violence survivors. Tammy's kind and generous contribution of beautiful gowns and jewellery adds a touch of elegance to the launch of the Broken to Brilliant Empowerment Through Art exhibition on International Women's Day, March 8, 2024, at 6 pm. This event, hosted at 'ART from the Margins' in Fortitude Valley, is made possible by the Queensland Government's 2023 Investing in Queensland Women grant.

Enjoying dresses & jewellery

Over the weekend, the artists visited Formerly Ever After, where they enjoyed trying on dresses and matching jewellery. It was a heartwarming experience, leaving them feeling cared for and supported as they prepare for this inaugural event.

Epik Hair Studio in Fortitude Valley will be styling the artists' hair for the launch event as an additional treat. This holistic support is integral to the transformational journey of rebuilding one's life and sense of self after domestic abuse.

Art Exhibition Invite

Following the sold-out International Women’s Day launch, the art exhibition will run from March 11th to 15th, open Monday to Friday, 10 am to 4 pm. It's a celebration of resilience and bravery, highlighting powerful art pieces created through art therapy workshops. These artworks serve as a cathartic expression of the survivors' experiences, symbolizing their journey from broken to brilliant.

Broken to Brilliant, collaborated with Sandbag, Strong Women Talking and Art from the Margins, and the DV-ART program is led by Broken to Brilliant author and Art Psychotherapist Kerry Tuck of Weird Fishh Health Services. This collaboration underscores our commitment to supporting survivors on their path to recovery.

Together, we align with the vision of International Women's Day 2024, celebrating diversity and inspiring empowerment as we strive for women's equality and a world free of domestic violence.

Join us in raising awareness and supporting survivors on their journey. Let's break the silence and build a community of empowerment and solidarity!
