About The Event
The HEART Program, which is an acronym for the Healing Equine Art Resilience Therapy Program is for families impacted by domestic and family violence. The program will help ten (10) children and parents address the effects of abuse such as reduce anxiety and distress and to connect with themselves and reconnect with family members. The program will provide the opportunity to focus on the present – the here and now, helping to move the participants forward out of their past traumatic experiences by using equine therapy. The art therapy will assist participants to reflect on their experiences with the horses, identify their feeling and emotions, the focus will be on the personal meaning that each participant finds within their creative work.
